From brief to bench

How we manage jewellery work from brief to return.

Each piece is assessed against the intended result, recorded under one job reference and completed only to the scope authorised by the client.

A single reference connects the instruction, condition record, quotation, approval, workshop status and return of each piece.

    Brief

    Reference the item, describe the required result and include the details that affect the method.

  2. 02

    Assessment

    We inspect condition, construction, stones, previous work and any risks not visible in the original submission.

  3. 03

    Quotation

    Standard work follows the trade schedule. Starting-price and repair work is confirmed before it begins.

  4. 04

    Approval

    Changes to scope or cost are held until the client has approved the revised quotation.

  5. 05

    Bench work

    The approved operation is completed with the item and instructions kept under the same job reference.

  6. 06

    Final check

    Finish, operation and stone security are checked as relevant before collection or agreed return.

Scope

The intended result defines the scope.

An operation such as polishing or repair can leave important decisions unresolved. We record the finish, measurements, protected areas, components and any connected work so that the authorised result is clear.

Records

One reference maintains a complete record.

Photographs, measurements, files, quotations and approvals remain connected to the same job reference. This provides a clear record from intake through to return.

Changes

Additional work requires additional approval.

If inspection reveals damage, wear or construction that changes the work, the revised scope is recorded and returned for approval before the additional operation proceeds.
