Assessment
The complete construction is considered alongside the visible fault.
Repair work is rarely identical from one piece to the next. Metal, construction, previous solder or laser work, access, stone risk and the amount of sound material remaining all affect the repair route.
The requested outcome should be separated from the diagnosis. A visible split, for example, may sit beside wear or distortion that also needs attention before the repair can be relied upon.
At the bench
Record, assess, quote and complete the agreed scope.
- 01
Record the condition
Use intake photographs and notes to establish the starting point and client request.
- 02
Assess the full area
Check adjacent metal, stones, joints and earlier repairs, not only the visible fault.
- 03
Quote the scope
Set out the approved repair, materials and any linked work that is required.
- 04
Repair and final check
Complete the authorised work, then inspect finish, operation and stone security as relevant.
Job specification
The fault, intended result and protected details define the brief.
- Clear description of the fault
- Desired outcome
- Metal and stone details
- Known previous repairs
Show the complete item as well as the damaged area, and disclose earlier repairs where known. The physical assessment sets the final scope.
Trade pricing
Repairs are quoted by time and materials.
This group is priced by time and materials rather than a single flat rate. Repeatable repair batches can still be considered for preferential pricing once the scope and condition are consistent.
Prices exclude VAT. Consistent repair batches can be reviewed once representative pieces have been assessed. VAT is added at the applicable rate.
